  1. That’s different, PM. Sometimes in all art forms the brilliance isn’t something I easily understand, yet inside I know if just listened to a masterpiece. Traditional English folksong art on hallucinogens, or maybe just doing what it always wanted to do. I don’t understand it, but rate it a whole lot ~ PGC

    1. Thank you, JCG. Maybe this is an ineffective conceptual puzzle-collage. I’m sad about the handling of the global situation. It’s absurd. I like the idea of the ‘Isolated Vocals’, and taking psychedelic drugs to get through the day. It would be a perfect precursor for chasing white rabbits. I mean everything is so ridiculous why no go full steam ahead crazy? From where I am, it looks like we need a whole lot of love, maybe we get there by feeding our heads and our hearts with a different kind of love than what’s currently out there.       1. Good point, PM. It’s all a jigsaw puzzle with a piece missing. It’s a game of pinball for the blind versus those who don’t need glasses. It’s a drugged up vagrant hero from another war years ago speaking drunk sense being ignored versus lying suits with enough greed and money to talk to millions of people and get believed. It’s all a mess. Love and compassion come in little plastic bags while silent hate comes in container ships. As the cockneys of London say, it’s all gone horribly wrong. I’m sick of it. It’s killing everything I touch. Have a better day than yesterday ~ JGC

        1. JGC, you’ve painted a brilliantly dark picture with your words. I can see a “vagrant hero from another war years ago speaking drunk sense” and the immense size of the container ships depositing “silent hate” along our shores. The poisonous aspects are the stuff that nightmares are made of, yet, we’re awake. It’s almost as if it becomes far too surreal and then jumps the line into a skewed reality.           1. PM, I always thought darkness, like the shadows I’ve written about in loads of lyrics, was the most creative thing of all. Not the sick and violent real darkness in the real world, but more like dark moods we all have sometimes. Moods that make painters paint and writers write. But the in-between darkness here, half real darkness that takes the sufferer to a place she/he doesn’t want to be, but the other half of the same thing, like ‘White Rabbit’ creates from the same darkness. Totally confused of Dover ~ JGC

          2. JGC, what is happening is more that most people can comprehend. There is an intent of malic and complete domination, the goal ultimate suppression and the regression of the individual, with the outcome of something much like the Hunger Games, not a joke. I see it moving faster in European countries right now, hold on tight. This is paralyzing when you delve into just how deep the rabbit hole is. Utter darkness, they are referring to it now as a ‘Dark Winter’. Listen for this term out of the mouths of the talking heads. I saw Charles (cringeworthy) make a public statement about the economic situation and the forward movement of change. Most disturbing! Stay sane, I believed we can be stripped of everything, even our voice, but never our thoughts. ~ PM

          3. I agree, PM. Proper democracy has stuffed itself into a sealed plastic bag to be chucked in a bin. Every day is like yesterday, and yesterday is like the day before – for millions of people. The right, not just the far right, are running the show. Europe’s always been good at that. The dreaded virus has come at a good time for them to turn ‘advise’ into an ‘order’. It gives the right wing something to think about for the future. I’ve lockdown since March, rarely leaving the house except for the ‘allowed’ daily exercise, mask wearing, walks along an empty coastline. I don’t mind any of that. It’s important. I’ll support it always. I’d have done all that anyways. But I have the feeling one day soon politicians will give up the suits for uniforms.

          4. Hi JGC, I doubt you will get to see the truth as it plays out here in the US due to propaganda. We are in a fight for democracy and the plastic bag has been torn open. Remember Paris under the Nazi Occupation? It’s the same sort of fake news propaganda. There are good people on both the left and the right. Those trying to running the show have no loyalty to the United States. I wish you well as you tackle more horrible lockdowns. I hope they will be rather short lived here as we enter into a new stage of truthful diplomacy. Something you mentioned triggered a thought I would like to share. “Every day is like yesterday, and yesterday is like the day before – for millions of people.” Indeed it is! I published a post years ago, October 30th, 2015; maybe I’ll repost it, who knows.

          5. Amazing, PM. Ian McKellen – ‘Life is like a walking shadow’ a big minus for those who understand. Then M. L. Lurie (don’t know the name, but like the words), ‘Frankly, I think the worst monsters of all are human beings’ – a sad truth. Says it all really. ‘Fake news propaganda’ wise, the news I’ve been following – far to much, but I’m interested – CNN (OK but they go on and on and on repeating themselves), RT (for no good reason, just curious), FOX NEWS (that should be called FOX FAR RIGHT OPINIONS) and the BBC. The BBC is the most boring of the lot, but because it’s never been allowed to take opinions or sides makes it probably the only news worth believing. I’ve just written a post for Tuesday. It’s not to the standards of the people you wrote about, but I’m hoping people will see what might happen if suits are traded for uniforms – a line that stayed with me. I’m unable to quote the originator, yet I find it most fitting. “Ignore the guillotine, as it’s a mostly peaceful machine.” Is it that it’s rather quiet in its operation, or is it that it exudes a hypnotic peacefulness out of fear?           7. That’s interesting. Could it be that they only used it at weekends when they would get a bigger audience? I’ve read that people treated execution like we treat a football match. The bigger the crowd the better. I know that sounds daft, but if the source was historical it might mean just that. Your second take on it is probably the right one though. Not good. It’s silent until it strikes, and just before that there must be so much fear – a bit like a hideaway politician who won’t give in. Have a good day ~ JGC

  6. Hauntingly beautiful vocals and so much depth in the lyrics made even more poignant without the music. Brings to mind Procol Harem’s “Whiter Shade of Pale”. I still have no idea what that’s about, but one of my all time favourites!

    1. I really like the isolated lyric of this version of “White Rabbit”, so powerful. “White Shade of Pale” has a most ambiguous advantage. I’m not sure of the true meaning, is it a breakup, drug addiction or the death of the “her/she”? After all these years, I suppose the meaning doesn’t matter or take away from the melancholy melody and lyric, maybe it makes it all the more special. Thank you for your words!

      1. Working on it. Basically locked up for months. Buying groceries on-line. Walknig around the block from time to time with 😷.
        We manage to see the family regularly since our MD daughter and son-in-law caught the bug. No symptoms. So we manage. How are you coping?

    1. I find we all need an infusion of inspiration right about now, Grace Slick is perfect for that. I couldn’t ask for more, the fact that the vocal were “isolated” was a perfect transition to my feelings (although many may share this) about the mandates that I currently live by. We must find all sorts of ways to feed our heads and our hearts during these uncertain times. Thank you, Randall.
