Finally revived
From your half-truths

  5. A remarkable story told in few words. Whether factual or a fiction matters not. Michael Ondaatje would be proud, possibly jealous that these words are yours, not his. At last, something worthy to read and absorb.

  8. Extraordinary Copper. I see the sins of omission make an appearance, and they trouble the conscience more, I think, than the stupid stuff we do (that I do anyway. Someone once said that heaven was a matter of milk bottle tops, all the small details decide the fate of our souls. Sorry I digress but excellent.

    1. Thank you, I thought it’s the perfect song, especially because there is no perfect. Some will argue we’ll all be saved, while some will say none of us will be saved. I think I would rather have someone lie to my face instead of the silent sin of omission.

  14. Tons of creative complete whole. You’ve made me think in your way of writing. I admire those writers who make other writers think and view poetry and the world in a different perspective. Beautifully written poetic awesomeness.

    1. Absolutely! Even though this was written some time ago, it’s still true for me. Like you, I think at times I intuitively know the truth. Instead I choose to ignore the little red flags that are popping up, not wanting to trust my own instincts, which of course is at my own determent. Then it becomes my duty to remove myself from the situation, and look forward to a sort of resurrection and redemption for my missteps. There’s something wonderful about hindsight and trusting yourself. Thank you, Stories, for a terrific comment, in my case it’s always good to do a little soul-searching.   18. Hi Mia, Your ability to put so much content into so few words, is something I enjoy about your writing and look forward to. I had read this sometime ago and had found myself tangled up in a sort of Biblical way in the following lines “While Lying in Wait — four days I traveled to Nain Bethany and Galilee too” This time reading through has changed nothing. Still a favorite part for me, because I suspect the answer to later resolve and growth is within that part of the phrase. With much respect, Daniel

Even without the biblical references, the idea of a resurrection is significant for me, and yes, the resolve and growth is all part of my renewal process.         1. I think you are right, Daniel, most probably dread the idea of any type of renewal. Maybe because we become so comfortable with the familiar even when it becomes uncomfortable. If we really examine the idea of, “renewal” there are so many type of renewal to experience, physical, emotional and spiritual. Some of us that are unfortunate in some ways are very fortunate in other ways, the renewal is always welcome in my world! 😉

      1. Yes, I think you are correct. There are times uncovering the truth can be disappointing and horrifying. Perhaps it is because at a young age the world is beautiful and innocent ~ then we grow older and the shadows and darkness of human nature begin to reveal themselves, and when we see/experience this it can be hard to reconcile. Society seems to be wired to ignore these shadows, which is where the power of art comes in. Wish you the best day ahead, Mia. Take care.
