Dry Bones
I pray to my God
Of The Used and The Users
Be still my heart — breathe;
Where hate rages for all time
In the Lone Land of Madness
I pray to my God
Of The Used and The Users
Be still my heart — breathe;
Where hate rages for all time
In the Lone Land of Sadness
I pray to my God
Of The Used and The Users
Be still my heart — breathe;
Where hate rages for all time
In the Lone Land of Mankind
“This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
This is the way the world ends
Not with a bang but a whimper.”
— T. S. Eliot, The Hollow Men Voice Handwriting

I hope to find an open mail to send you my greetings.
If not we feel on my return
maybe I see the ditch in your part so I come to swim haha 🙂

Ha-ha, the dark side of the Moon, cold as Hell, but you’re probably wishing more like Hell, because of the warmth. 😉 How about a pool instead of a ditch? Much cleaner, ha-ha! Plus you might need more than ditch water for the splash down! I will be watching for you! 🙂

Somebody’s been watching the Walking Dead perhaps? I liked reading this. It reminds me to be dark and stormy sometimes in life. Also that T.S. Eliot poem I remember from the beginning of a song by a band called EMF. Maybe they were before your time? Still, you’re unbelievable.

You know, I bet everyone will cringe, but I only watched part of the first season, never really got into it. I’ll explain…As for the music I’m a huge fan of Alison Mosshart. Wanted the music to mirror the dark feelings of the words. It’s totally about dark and stormy times, but I think there is always hope. I will have to check out EMF. “The Hollow Men” is one of my favorite poems by Eliot. Thank you Christian, for such wonderful words, you know you’re very kind! Hope you’re having a great day!

I liked your poem and then I kept reading and ended up adrift on who rocks. 🙂 The images you find are always impressive and because of you I’ve become a fan of Alison. Anyway, everything about this rocks, the image, your poem, the song, and you. 🙂

Thank you so much for your kindness. Ha-ha, who rocks? You do, especially with all those amazing photos! I got lucky with that image, I’m always disappointed when I can’t give the proper credit to the artist. I had some idea of what I wanted, something to represent the idea of The Valley of Dry Bones and the story behind it. I’m pleased to hear you are now a fan of Alison. 😉 Wishing you a wonderful afternoon and evening. ~ Mia 🙂

Okay I won’t argue, we all rock. 🙂 You did an excellent job of conveying the idea of the story. A somewhat sad but updated version. My favorite line is “Be still my heart — breathe.” Hope the very talented Mia enjoys the rest of her beautiful day. 🙂

We all “ROCK”. 😉 Thank you very much, I like that line too. Apologies for the delay, just now able to get on line, unfortunately part of the Frontier transition. I’m quite hopeful that all is resolved now. If I disappear again you’ll know why! 😉 I don’t even know what day it is, ha-ha! Just kidding, now I do, have a marvelous Monday!

Wow! You write with grace and flair, Mia. The dark weight of this calls to me, yet there is just enough hope to clutch and hang onto… The repetition is beautiful and works so completely. You’ve clearly put a lot of time into the smaller details – every word earns its place. A beautiful, powerful write, my friend. Love it. I hope your weekend is full of magic 🙂

Thank you for Ryan, for sharing your kindness. I can’t thank you enough for mentioning the repetition, I had some concerns that it would be viewed as laziness rather than intentional. I’m delighted and not surprised that you read past this worry. You’ve truly brought a smile to my face. Thank you for the well wishes, please have the same, a weekend filled with magic. ~ Mia

The perfect use of TS Eliot ~ the words you bring to reflect on where we stand as a race is what is needed. Introspection as this is where we continue to evolve into something. A wonderful mistress of words you are.

Thank you so much for such an eloquent and kind comment. I happen to be a huge fan of Eliot, obviously. He had such a way with words as to be able to describe human nature, not always at its prettiest. You mentioned something that triggered a thought, “evolve”. Are you familiar with the theories of de-evolution or devolution? It’s very interesting and sad at the same time. How do you ring the bell of what’s needed to bring about change? I think the pool of like-minded people is but a drop in the sea of meaningless gratification. We seem to be a people that live in the “repeat” of all things, history, violence and destruction. On a brighter note, I was thrilled to see your post in the reader and deeply moved by it, you’ll see my comment on your site. Wishing you well, as always take good care. ~ Mia

You are quite perceptive, the use of the word evolve was very intentional. The primal, survival instincts/violence serves a role but without additional evolution, we shall devolve as you mention. From the horrors we see in the world today, from severely stunted minds it does look bleak…yet the strength for change and truly unique and powerful ideas are forming and will reshape politics and society. I do not see it as wishful thinking, but theoretically and mathematically the human race will inevitably change and continue to evolve. The mind, the brain, and human consciousness is likely where the next great leap will be. 🙂 Yes, I may be a bit of an optimist…but hey, why not. Cheers to a great day Mia ~

Staci, thank you. I know you always get where I’m going with my efforts. It’s so sad that we keep repeating our mistakes over and over. But I’m just a silent voice in the roar of the absurd. Truly I don’t know how it will all play out. Maybe Eliot is right, I’m starting to think so, with a whimper! By then the cry for help will be too late. Thank you my friend, apologies for the bit of the delay. I always want to allow myself time to reply to your comments without any interruptions. I love when you leave your thoughts, I want you to know that they are so meaningful to me, especially because we seem to be on the same wavelength about many social issues and how “man” behaves. Please enjoy your weekend. Take good care, especially of that foot! ~ Mia ❤

Staci, I’m so delighted to read that the foot is getting better. I’m glad that you liked that phrase, ha-ha 🙂 maybe I should use it in something. But really for me it feels that way often, as everything appears to be spinning out of control. Please continue to take good care of yourself and your foot!

Thanks for the well-wishes. I certainly do hope that next Tuesday I get the ‘go ahead’ on being crutch-free.

Staci, you’re so right it’s not a laughing matter, but if we can’t laugh at the absurdity of it, we wouldn’t be able to make it through the day. Wishing you the best luck with your foot and hoping that you can say “goodbye” to the crutches! Have a wonderful evening and enjoy your Friday. 🙂 ❤
