It is – Artist Marion Costentin
.
Solace
Occitan Sonnet
It’s a new dawn drawn over sparkling seas
It’s a new year of mistakes to be made
It’s a new day of yesterday’s old dreams
It’s a new twilight of yesteryear’s sage
Nothing is holy, nothing as it seems
Nothing is hallow, everything’s the same
Nothing lasts forever, ash to redeem
Nothing ever changes, a crying shame
Do we sadly believe, that’s all there is?
Do we need cleansing, from a Reich Power?
Do we hope for worth, would it be remiss?
Do we just accept what is, and cower?
Do we live again, this time total bliss?
Do we find solace — in our final hour?
.

Alan, thank you for your lovely comment, I truly appreciate it. Yes, I’ve been on the fence about the comment section, originally this was to be a read only site, often I forget to close the comments. Happy New Year, have a terrific 2016!

I read it, and felt like the place where it came from, resembles a deep ocean. Frightfully beautiful.

Dajena, thank you for your incredible kindness, your comment has brought tears to my eyes and touched my heart. Actually, this was written in a moment of reflection, I was thinking about The Pond of Ashes at Birkenau. You are correct, your feelings about the water are very accurate. Please have a lovely evening!

Taken a tour (detour?) great inspirations. Shall continue 🙂

Hector! What a fabulous quote by Kahlil Gibran. Thank you, it’s so true. What perfect timing you have.
I’m surprised you’re reading some of the old stuff, thank you for all the likes. When I revisit these old pieces, I see so many places I would make changes. I think writing is funny that way. We change, our voice changes, the direction we want our words/intent to go changes. Nothing remains the same. Maybe that’s a good thing.
I hope you’re enjoying your evening, wishing you much creativity and inspiration. Please take good care, and thank you again Hector. ~ Mia ❤

That is because we don’ remain the same, a constant changing universe. Perfect timing? 🙂 *hug*

Sometimes I would like to slow down the changing process. 🙂 Yes, your timing is perfect. Yesterday I thinking about the definition of selfless. I don’t sit around thinking about such subjects just for the fun of it, at least I don’t think so, ha-ha. Oh yes, that’s right I told you about the long corridor of doors, laughing! 😉 *hugs*

If you were to write it like “self-less” then it is about less of you. But “self” is more about the immensity of your inner universe. And I do sit around thinking about those things, my nature (and work). Good night Mia, may your dreams take you in a tour of “self” 😉

Hi Hector, I had a chance to listen to several other poems that you posted to SoundCloud. I think that’s so neat, I haven’t given it a go yet.
My mind is never quiet and takes me to all sorts of places, and I think about all sorts of things. It’s been said that I spend too much time in my head. I don’t know if that’s possible, everyone’s different, so far it’s served me well. 😉 I hope you’re enjoying your evening. ~ Mia

Hi Mia 😊 I haven’t recorded in a while but was thinking about doing new recordings. I am self conscious about my voice, but did try. It’s nothing wrong with spending time in your head, I live in there all the time. Let me know and I’ll come and keep you company in there, I’m sure it would be quite interesting ❤️
